Enhancing Trust Among the Adults in a Montessori Learning Community . . . and How to Repair It When It’s Damaged

Join our upcoming discussions

with Dr. Stacey Mackinnon and Jonathan Wolff

New Zoom schedule will be posted soon.
First live Zoom will be after the first of the year.

Montessori classrooms and schools are collaborative learning communities. Their success depends largely upon the ability and willingness of students, teachers, school leaders, and parents/caregivers to partner, to work in harmony for the greater good. But as you know, this is easier said than done. Cultivating, maintaining, and sometimes repairing important school relationships, requires inner work as well as sound communications skills.

Stacey MacKinnon and Jonathan Wolff invite you to participate in and contribute to a six-part learning experience on the art of cultivating and nurturing our Montessori relationships.

You will have an opportunity to view six prerecorded videos, each of which addresses an essential aspect of community-building and relationship repair in Montessori schools. Two weeks after viewing each video Stacey and Jonathan will host a live online discussion on how to practice and apply the principles and tools they introduced in their video conversations.

Participating teachers and school leaders will have an opportunity to share ideas and receive responsive coaching from Stacey and Jonathan.

By attending “Establishing Peace . . . the Work of Education” you will have an opportunity to:

  •  Discuss the prevailing models of trust-building and teamwork
  •  Take stock of our own “trust tendencies”
  •  Learn strategies for rebuilding trust and revitalizing key relationships
  •  Practice balancing empathy and accountability – with oneself and others
  •  Find your “voice of disagreement” – the ability to state your position clearly and confidently while honoring the experience and perspectives of others

Who Will Benefit from Participating in this Six-Part Discussion Forum?

__ Teachers who have struggled with communication and cooperation issues with

their teaching partner(s)

__ School leaders who are trying to cultivate more cooperation, collaboration,

and teamwork among the staff

__ Teachers who are dealing with distrustful parents, who are

experiencing stressful and conflict-ridden interactions with parents

__ School leaders who are at a loss as to how to motivate certain teachers to

learn and try more Montessori-aligned practices

__ Teachers who are finding it hard to be heard and appreciated by school leaders

__ Teachers who are working to regain the trust of certain students, where a lack

of cooperation and non-compliance have become the norm
